TOP-100 (Radio) Hits of 2008

Radio Foorti's Yearly TOP-100 songs hitlist (Based on listener's vote). Singer & composer Habib was the most successful act in 2006 having 8 hits including the No. 1 song 'Bhalobashbo Bashbore Bondhu', Arnob, Bappa Majumder, Fuad & Hyder Husyn had equal 5 hits that year.
The following year (2007) composer Fuad Al Muqdatir was at the top spot with 16 hits to his credit, next 3 successful acts were Bappa Majumder (8 ), Tahsan (5) & Balam (4 hits including No. 1 'Lukochuri'). Arnob, Habib, ‘Bassbaba’ Sumon & Mila also had 4 hits in 'Top-100 of 2007'.
This year Fuad is still holding his crown with his magic touch in 19 of the 100-top-rated songs, former champ Habib follows him with 9 hits, other super hit performers are Arnob, Balam (both 7) & Topu (6 hits).
Most successfull albums of ‘08, producing 4 hits, are-Doob (Arnob), Balam II, Obosheshe (Habib), Bondhu Bhabo Ki (Fuad Ft. Topu) & Kromannoy (Fuad Ft. various acts). 3 hits-producing CDs are- Daanpite (Tahsan Ft. Minar), The Hit Album (Various artists), Hridoy Mix (Hridoy Khan Ft. various), Ekhon Ami (Fuad Ft. Sumon & Anila) & ‘Monpura’ Soundtrack.
The last one can be considered as an excellent work of country's leading composer Arnob. The OST of 'Monpura' comprises 3 beautiful tunes-'Jao Pakhi Bolo Taare'(Krishno Koli)@3, 'Shonar Moyna Pakhi'(Arnob)@10 & ‘Nithua Pathare’ (Actor Fazlur Rahman Babu)@18.
Arnob's solo album 'Doob' was also a success with maximum number of hits (Lukiye@26, Rastay@40, 'Onek Dur'@82 & 'Dhushor Megh'@88 ),
Apart from 'Monpura OST', other successful movie albums are- Priyotomeshu (Kona's 'Shopnota Dhorte'@71 and Balam & Julee's title track 'Priyotomeshu'@86), Akash Chowa Bhalobasa' OST (Habib & Nancy's 'Prithibir Joto Sukh'@95) & ‘Amar Ache Jol’ Soundtrack. Two versions of 'Cholo Bristite Bhiji' (Habib & Sabina Yasmin's version@38 and Kona's version@62) have been selected for the TOP-100 list from the Humayun Ahmed movie.
Super hit rock CDs of 2008 are Black's Abar (Manush Pakhir Gaan@24 & Abohoman@63), Aurthohin's Aushomapto-1 (Chaite Paro@5 & Aushomapto@34), Underground-2 ('Joydhoni' by Nemesis@92) and Romel, Babna, Russell's Shantir Bornon (Shombhabonar Prithibi@80).
Besides Black, Aurthohin & Nemesis only few band’s made into the TOP-100, the luckier bands are- Vibe (Nostalgia@97), Shunno (Bedona@97), S.I. Tutul’s band ‘Face 2 Face’ (‘Mone Ki Pore’@85 & ‘Dhrubo Tara’@94) & Bappa & Late Sanjeebda’s band ‘Dolchut’ (Jochona Bihar@48 ).
Most popular female act of 2008 is newly wed Anila Naz with 4 hits (This year’s No. 1 song ‘Nupur 2’, with Topu; 3 songs from ‘Ekhon Ami’ CD-‘Gaibona’@9, with Bassbaba Sumon; Shopnogulo Tomar Moto@37 & Tirjok@93). Other successful ladies of '08 are-Kona (with ‘Priyotomeshu’ & ‘Amar Ache Jol’ movies song as well as her solo CD’s hit), Mila (breaking into the pop charts with 3 Fuad compositions), Mehreen (with 'Tumi Acho Bole' CD's title track@66 & 'Shunnota'@77, composed by Habib & Fuad respectively) and Sharmin Rauma. Rauma's husband, ‘Miles’ man Manam Ahmed composed her new ‘Shopnojatra’ album, Bhalo Lagena(@33) & Ek Mutho Rod(@65) entered the TOP-100 list from it. Fahmida Nobi, who had total 5 FM Radio TOP-100 hits in ’06-’07; mainly romantic duets with Bappa Majumder, has only 1 hit this time, her ‘Ochena Shur’, taken from the ‘Canvas’ mixed album got 76th place. Arnob’s wife Shahana Bajpai’s two Rabindra songs ‘Amar Nishitho Raater Badol Dhara’ & ‘Fuley Fuley’ were placed in the ’06-’07 Top-100, this time her ‘Ekti Chele’, from Arnob’s 2007 production ‘Jhalmuri’, secured 60th place. Actress Srabosti Dotto Tinni’s radio hit ‘Bhabe Mon Okaron’ secured 27th place. UK based singer Armeen Musa’s title track of ‘Ay Ghum Bhangai’ album is at No. 99 while Canadian based Jafrin’s debut album's melodious track 'Chena Shomoy' is at 96.
Newcomer young Hridoy Khan was amongst the successful composers last year, his smash hit 'Chaina Meye' got 4th place & the duet ‘Bhebe Bhebe’ is at 11. Parvez's nice song 'Jabi Jodi'(@21) & Sonya's Mela (@90 from Sonya's 'Bhebe Nebo' CD) are also from Hridoy Khan's production.
Other mentionable young acts are- Minar (3 hits-Shada@7, Jani@28 & Bondhu@30, all from Tahsan Ft.
